2. Principal’s Report
- RCC meetings underway and trying to pull together a plan that works for everyone.
3. Teacher’s Report
- Thank you to parents for ongoing support.
- Mr. Wetherald update on SOME collection, we collected $1,000.
4. Membership Coordinator Report
- 13k/ 68% last year this time for dues collection.
- This year we are at $69,825 with 47% participation.
5. Treasurer’s Report
- Tree sale netted $5,500 in profit, which is better than forecast by $1000 but worse to budget by $3,500. For comparison, last year we netted $6,500. We sold out of inventory by Saturday night.
6. KEHP Update
- There is no report on this topic.
- Adam is receiving questions about KEHP, but there is too much up in the air.
7. LSAT Update
- Enrollment projections: we added ten seats for families that we think are coming back and 10 seats for Kindergarteners.
- At the November hearing on the budget, they decided to stay with comprehensive model. There will not be a change to how budget is calculated.
- LSATS around the district are pushing for a higher cap on classrooms from the 11 students to one teacher that it is currently set at. They are looking at different cities and studies to inform this decision.
- Asymptomatic testing protocol will start soon.
- DCPS did not order enough testing kits and are waiting on more for full dissemination.
- With increase in the numbers, do you have to stay six feet apart? Amy L.: schools have different sized classrooms. There are questions about if you have to stay six feet apart if you wear masks, have the right air filtration, etc.
- Key has testing kits. Nurse Trimmer has checked them and found some inconsistencies with labeling. They will further look into this.
- Consent forms are being sent to families in CARE class.
- Testing is randomized, student testing will be conducted by a separate service. All staff in building will get them.
8. Equity Team Update
- Not present, they are meeting tomorrow.
- Kindred is doing community circles, virtually.
9. New Business
- Hardy Open House with Principal Cooke – December 10
- This week we also have the Hardy open house. Zoom link will be sent out closer to the event.
- Key Open Houses
- Are we going to do them? J. Green: A date was listed for December 11, this is canceled. ED fest is happening, and families are encouraged to check website for new dates. March 12th is the alternate date. This will need to be moved up so that families can see school before applying. OR we wait until after April 2nd, when parents decide.
- Adam K: we should do one before and after deadlines.
- They would have to be done virtually. February 10th for virtual open houses. We will have PTO members to answer questions of prospective families. We will start at 10am. Chrys L., Elissa P. and Amy L will assist in these.
