|Hello and welcome to a summertime NW@K. Read on for all the info you need to know about July 3 and 4th activities in the Palisades.
Join the Key School Float in the Palisades July 4 Parade
Key School is participating in the Palisades July 4 Parade — and we want you to join us! Our float will be lined up on Whitehaven Parkway by 10:30 am, and will be clearly marked with a Key School sign. You’ll need to walk up Whitehaven as floats, etc. will be lined up the street towards Foxhall. All Key students are welcome to participate by riding on the float, walking with the float, or biking/scootering with the float. There will not be enough space on the float for everyone and it is first come, first serve to secure a spot. If your child is a Pre-K to second grade student, a parent must walk/bike/scoot along with the float. Please wear your favorite Key shirt, and hats are recommended — our theme is “Summer Hayride”. Please bring water as it will be very hot! Parents of third graders and above, please make plans to meet your children at Palisades Park at the end of the parade — the parade generally takes 60 to 90 minutes. Adults working on the float will not be able to monitor the students at the park. If you have any 4th of July accessories to add to our float, please bring them! We’ll assemble everything before we launch the float. If you are looking to help decorate the float in advance, please contact Jessica Davis at davis.jessicaL@gmail.com or at (202) 818-9018.
