School begins at 8:35am. Please observe all parking rules, and walk or bike to school if possible to cut down on congestion. Parents cannot use the staff parking lot for any reason.
Parents can drop off their children at Key School in two ways.
Take your child to the black top (gymnasium on inclement weather days). The children will line up by class. Teachers will escort the children up to their classroom at 8:35am. There is no supervision for children not enrolled in KEHP before care before this time.
2. Car Drop Off
Key School is pleased to offer easy car drop off in front of the school on Eskridge Terrace. Between 8:20am and 8:50am every school day, PTO volunteers are stationed at Key’s entrance and will help your student exit the vehicle and head to the blacktop, or if your student is in pre-K head inside the school to meet their teachers for the start of the school day. During this time, Eskridge Terrace is a ONE-WAY STREET heading from Garfield toward Dana Place to ensure the safety of our children. Please observe the traffic signs and follow the school traffic pattern to assure a necessary one-way flow of traffic clockwise around the school block.
DRIVERS MUST REMAIN IN VEHICLE.
Drive north along Hurst Terrace, turn right and head east on Garfield Street, turn right and continue south on Eskridge Terrace to main entrance.
DRIVERS MUST REMAIN IN VEHICLE. Volunteers will be there to assist children out of the car in the No Parking/No Standing Zone.
Prekindergarten students should be escorted to their line in the front hallway using the school’s main entrance on Eskridge Terrace through either the entrance adjacent to the blacktop or the side entrance.
All children who do not walk home alone or are not enrolled in KEHP aftercare must be picked up on the blacktop (or gymnasium in case of inclement weather) at 3:15pm. Children not picked up by 3:30pm will be escorted to the front office.
