F.S. Key Elementary is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School that works to achieve four instructional goals for every student from pre-K through 5th grade. We strive to:
- Help each student master critical learning skills;
- Encourage every student to discover his or her special abilities, while respecting the accomplishments of others;
- Ensure a healthy physical environment that promotes each student’s mental and physical development; and
- Provide the leadership, planning, and resources necessary to accomplish these goals.
The average class size is approximately 20 students per teacher. In addition to the teacher, there is an instructional aide for every pre-K and kindergarten class and two instructional aides shared across the three 1st grade classes.
The total number of students enrolled at Key for the 2019–20 school year was around 380. Approximately 8 percent of the students who attend Key are considered out-of-boundary, and close to 30 percent of our student’s are from other countries.
Our school is led by Principal David Landeryou and Assistant Principal Jennifer Green.
